Joanne Wang is an artist, fabricator, and educator based in Oakland, California. Utilizing embroidery, secondhand textiles, and found objects, her process-based practice explores themes of consumption and identity.

Joanne received her BA in Art and Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her professional background includes creating art installations and activations for businesses and events, with an emphasis on material awareness and sustainability. In parallel, she works with local reuse nonprofits and teaches textile-based workshops throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Material reuse and sustainability form a throughline across her art practice and community-centered work.
